Who I am

The Crazy Travel (thecrazytravel.com, and its Spanish and Latvian editions) is a personal website run by Pablo Mandado Hernández. For anything — including exercising your rights over your data — email me at pablo@thecrazytravel.com.

What data I handle, and why

I only process the data you give me, and only for what you ask:

Contact form — your name, email and message, so I can reply. Legal basis: your consent. The email is delivered by Resend.
Newsletter — your email (and the language of the site you sign up from), to send you the newsletter you asked for. It uses double opt-in (you get an email to confirm). Legal basis: your consent. Subscribers are stored in a Neon database (hosted in the EU) and emails are sent with Resend.

I never sell, rent or share your data with third parties.

Providers

The site relies on these services, acting as data processors: Vercel (web hosting), Resend (email sending), Neon (newsletter database) and Google Workspace (my inbox, when you email me). Some operate servers outside the European Economic Area; where they do, transfers rely on the safeguards required by the GDPR (standard contractual clauses or adequacy frameworks).

Analytics, no cookies

I use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to see, in aggregate and anonymously, which pages are visited and whether the site is fast. They use no cookies and collect no personal data, so there's no banner.

Cookies

This site uses no tracking or advertising cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is your theme preference (light/dark), in the browser's own local storage — a technical preference that doesn't track you and isn't shared.

Your rights

At any time you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability, and withdraw consent (for example, by unsubscribing via the link in every newsletter). For any of these, email me at pablo@thecrazytravel.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Retention: I keep contact messages for as long as needed to deal with your query, and newsletter data until you unsubscribe.

Some product links are affiliate links: I take part in the Amazon Associates programme (and possibly others). If you buy through them I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Clicking them takes you to Amazon, which applies its own cookies and privacy policy.

Liability

I take care to keep the information useful and accurate, but the site is provided "as is": I'm not liable for decisions made from its content or for occasional service interruptions. I may update this notice when needed; the current version is always the one published here.
